Jessica S. Flannery is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Jessica in working in UNC’s Psychology & Neuroscience Department jointly in the Developmental Social Neuroscience (DSN) lab and the Carolina Affective Science Lab (CASL). Before coming to UNC, Jessica received her Ph.D. in Cognitive Neuroscience in July 2021 from Florida International University, where she was a Graduate Researcher in the Neuroinformatics Brain Connectivity (NBC) Lab in FIU’s Psychology doctoral program. She graduated in 2015 from Grinnell College (Grinnell, Iowa) with a B.A. in Psychology and a concentration in neuroscience. Jessica is interested in the neurobiological mechanisms of addiction and reward processing and her research thus far has focused on functional brain mechanisms involved in withdrawal and drug use risk factors.
