There are a few more steps you can take to set up your website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Let search engines find your site:<\/strong> By default, your website discourages search engines like Google from adding it to their search results. From your Dashboard, go to Settings > Reading and uncheck \u201cDiscourage search engines from indexing this site.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n It may take some time for search engines to find your website after you enable indexing. If it still doesn’t show up in searches after a couple weeks, submit the Website Feedback<\/a> form for assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n (Optional) Add more editors:<\/strong> From your Dashboard, go to Users and click “Add Existing” to add other MyWeb users to edit your website. You can set their permissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Anyone who wants to edit a MyWeb site must also own a MyWeb site. They can register a website and leave the “Discourage search engines” option on so it will not be found.<\/p>\n\n\n\n (Optional) Request a<\/strong> vanity URL:<\/strong> Use the Website Feedback<\/a> form to request a vanity URL like mylab.fiu.edu<\/em> that redirects to your website. It won’t replace the official myweb.fiu.edu\/myusername<\/em> address on your website, but will provide an easy link you can share. Alternatively, you could create a Go link<\/a> such as go.fiu.edu\/name.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
