DeGreeff is an Associate Professor of Chemistry with the Global Forensic and Justice Center at Florida International University in Miami, where she takes a chemistry-based approach to studying olfaction for the purpose of informing field vapor detection and sampling practices. She conducts research in the field of vapor analysis as it relates canine and instrumental detection, specifically trace vapor sampling, characterization, and generalization.&nbsp;She is an award-winning chemist with 15 years of experience, more than 30 publications, 3 patents and was listed as a top 30 Influential Woman Role Models by the American Society of Naval Engineers. Publications include the book &#8220;Canines: The Original Biosensor&#8221;, released in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>__<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Current position (2021 to present) \u2013 Associate Professor in the FIU Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and the Global Forensic and Justice Center<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior position (2012 to 2021) \u2013 Research Chemist and Principal Investigator at the Naval Research Laboratory, Chemistry Division, Code 6181<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Post Doc (2011-2012) \u2013 FBI Counterterrorism and Forensic Science Research Unit<br><br>__<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Education<\/strong><br>Ph.D. Chemistry (Forensic track) \u2013 Florida International University<br>B.S.
