Robert Lickliter received his Ph.D. degree in Animal Behavior from the University of California, Davis in 1983. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Psychology at Florida International University and Co-Director of the Infant Development Research Center.

He is the author of over one hundred research articles and book chapters, and co-editor of The Development of Intersensory Perception (1994) and Conceptions of Development: Lessons from the Laboratory (2002). He is currently an associate editor of Developmental Science and serves on the editorial boards of Developmental Psychobiology and Integrative Psychological and Behavioral Science. He is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and the Association for Psychological Science and received the Frank Beach Comparative Psychology Award from the APA.
