Welcome! I am Dr. Sonia Underwood and am an Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, as well as a DBER (Discipline Based Education Research) faculty in the STEM Transformation Institute at Florida International University.

My research focus is on majorly three areas –

(1) Developing assessment measures to determine impact of curriculum transformation and propagation

(2) Investigating the barriers and supports faculty need when adopting a new curriculum

(3) Exploring the connections students make between their chemistry, biology, and physics courses.
