So, you want to find a way to look at the analytics of your FIU MyWeb site.
You’re in luck.
Analytics are a very useful tool to have that can be used to better tailor your site to your users’ needs and the ever-changing digital landscape.
What you need:
- An FIU MyWeb WordPress site
- An FIU Google Account
Here’s how to get the analytics plugin on your own site.
Step 1:
Navigate to Google Analytics. This will help you see what your sites’ users spend time looking at. The Google Analytics setup page can be found here.
Step 2:
Press “Start measuring” and fill out all the necessary information that is asked to create a Google Analytics account. The site will ask you to type in your website name, select your timezone, a link to your site, etc. It will also ask for your email, so use your FIU email account. You will also have to agree to the terms and conditions.
Step 3:
Your Google Analytics account is now set up and you can see your site’s analytics. Now, go to your WordPress dashboard and click “Plugins.”
Step 4:
In the search bar, type in “Google.” Find “Google Analytics for WordPress by MonsterInsights.” Underneath that, click “Activate.”
Step 5:
Now, you should be in MonsterInsights’ start screen. Press “Launch the Wizard!” to begin connecting your Google Analytics account.
Step 6:
On the MonsterInsights website, follow the five steps to connect your account. You will need to log into your FIU Google, select preferences, and click the site you want to use for the MonsterInsights plugin.
Step 7:
Your site is now using MonsterInsights! Now, navigate back to your FIU MyWeb dashboard. Towards the bottom of the selections, there is now an “Insights” button. Click that and you can now view the insights of your site on your WordPress dashboard! Paid options are available to access even more data.
