Experience

Florida International University, Miami, FL

Aug 2018- Present
Graduate Research Assistant, Human Cyber Physical Systems lab

• Design experimental protocols for studying the neurophysiology of human movement intention, emotion, and their relationship to enhance the state-of-the-art assistive technologies.
• Collect neurophysiological, kinetic, and kinematic data including Electroencephalography, Electromyography, Inertial Measurement Unit and analyzed them using signal processing and machine learning techniques. (MATLAB, EEGLAB)
• Implement signal processing and machine algorithms to predict human intention to start, stop and accelerate while walking from pre-movement EEG in pseudo-online and offline scenarios. (MATLAB, scikit-learn)
• Analyze the effect of affective music stimulus on human motor intention prediction performance and displayed that happy music stimuli significantly enhance prediction of movement intention. (MATLAB, EEGLAB, scikit-learn)
• Design a deep learning network (MATLAB, python, keras) to recognize terrain types and predict incoming terrain transitions from videos recorded on a wearable camera (picamera-v2, raspberry pi) placed on the user’s ankle.
