Hi all, and welcome to my portfolio. I’m Brooke Johnson, the creator of said portfolio. If you are watching this video, you’ve come across my portfolio and clicked the “welcome video” heading. Thank you for the engagement, though. Now I get to tell you about my portfolio in a less formal manner. You’ll get the rundown on everything about my portfolio.
As I said earlier, I’m Brooke Johnson. I’m an English- Creative Writing major at Florida International University. I’m also getting a certificate in professional and public writing. I don’t want to bore you with all the little details about myself. You can go read the professional version of me in the about section, which I’ll show you in just a second here. I’m filming this video on March 6th, and my portfolio isn’t finished yet. So if you’re watching this once the portfolio is finished, hopefully you’ll still be able to understand it without me having to tell you. If not, feel free to email me, and I can tell you! Now lets get into my portfolio.
This is the homepage. I call this theme the tortured poet. Here is where all my posts can be found. As you can see, my most recent post is my trip to New Orleans. You click on any of these posts, and it will take you directly to the page where you can read them.
Next is the about page, where you can read all about this portfolio and how it came to be. On the left-hand side, you can see a list of my recent posts. You can click on any of those links, and they will take you to the page where you can read them.
Next, we have where this video will be embedded. Since you’re watching this video, you’ve probably already explored this tab, though.
Then we have where any writing will be. This is writing that isn’t a blog post. For example, my review of the AirPods pros 3.
Following the writing is where you can find any media I upload. So far, this includes an image gallery. I will also include this video and soon an audio page!
Next is the page that will see the most action, my blog. So far, I’ve posted one blog post a week, and that will probably continue until I finish the portfolio.
If you haven’t read my about statement, here are the highlights. I’m making this portfolio for ENC3413, aka writing for the web. For each module we complete, we have to write a meta-critical analysis. Those will just explain why I’m making all these choices for my portfolio. In total, there will be 3 analysis and then I will combine them all into a fourth one at the end of the semester.
Second to last is the author biography, where you can read all the boring details about my life if you’re so inclined.
The last page has all my contact information if you ever want to reach out.
That’s how you navigate my portfolio. Now go explore and read my work. Hopefully, this video helps you!
