I am a data scientist who is dedicated to solving complex problems and making a positive impact. Currently, I am pursuing my Master of Science in Data Science at Florida International University, where I also earned my Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Sciences. My experience in the field has been diverse, ranging from conducting research on natural language processing (NLP) to detect ambiguity and inconsistencies in the legal domain to working as a real estate financial data analyst and research assistant in the mathematics department at FIU. Additionally, I am a member of the Cyber-Physical Systems Security Lab (CSL), where I conduct applied research on cybersecurity and networking.
As a volunteer tutor and mentor, I have been able to use my skills to help high school students achieve their education and career goals. I also served as a lead IT tech for a candidate for the Florida House of Representatives, helping to ensure that their campaign had the necessary technological infrastructure to succeed.
In the summer of 2022, I participated in the Applied Mathematics Research Program for Undergraduates (AMPRU). Through this program, I had the opportunity to engage in research in various areas of applied mathematics with a focus on real-life applications. As a research assistant in the Mathematics Department at Florida International University, I designed an optimal asset trading strategy using time series analysis with reinforcement learning and stochastic gradient optimization, and learned analytical and computational methods that will help me excel in graduate studies at the intersection of mathematics and science.
The project not only helped me gain valuable experience in the field, but it also led to an exciting opportunity to present my findings at the SIAM Mathematics and Data Science Conference of 2022. Thanks to the Sustainable Horizons Institute Broader Engagement program, I received a fully funded scholarship to attend the conference and share my research with other mathematicians and data scientists.
With a strong background in programming, statistical analysis, and database management, I am well-equipped to tackle complex data challenges and provide data-driven insights. I am a driven and dedicated data scientist who is always seeking new challenges and opportunities to make a difference. I look forward to connecting with others in the field and continuing to grow my skills and knowledge.
