From Roads to Highways

I have recently partaken in the first Autism Multidisciplinary Summit in Spanish, where I listened to a plethora of experts from different fields. One of the experts used the absolute best analogy, in my opinion, to understand the process of working with autistic brains. Picture the brain of an autistic child as a dirt road, and then understand you need to pave that road, create new overpasses, connections, ramps, merge lanes, and everything in between. In other words, you need to build a highway.

Learning language translation presents a great opportunity to help build that highway. The student will develop multitasking skills, among others, creating new neuropathways.

The Interpreters Twilight Zone’s latest post discusses an ambitious dream: an inclusive language school for all individuals. It introduces the intention to put autistic individuals’ hidden talents to good use in the translation field.

Please take a little time to check it out, and as usual, a penny for your thoughts!
