Press Release

What?

A new Blog.

Author Olivia Abreu has launched The Interpreter Twilight Zone hosted by WordPress on her website provided by MyWeb FIU.

Why?

The Interpreter Twilight Zone’s purpose is to expand judicial interpretation to the neurodivergent population that might need an interpreter.

When?

The website initiated a soft launch in early March, but a full blast is expected by some point in mid-April 2024.

Where?

The Interpreter Twilight Zone is progressively gaining traction on different social media platforms. You can find more information @the_interpreters_twilight_zone and follow its Facebook page The Interpreters Twilight Lounge

Still…so what?

The Interpreter Twilight Zone is a fresh look into a profession that bridges not only the language gap but also the cultural one. Threatened by the giant advances of AI, translation and interpretation seek to cement their place in the language world.

Neurodivergent individuals hold the shorter end of the stick when in the presence of the court system. Neurodiversity doesn’t discriminate, hence the need for trained interpreters who would give an excellent rendition taking into account the linguistic particularities of the LEP (limited English proficiency) individual.
