Project Hail Mary (2026)
Hello everyone and welcome back to “The Movie Diaries” blog! Today, taken straight out of my Letterboxd, I want to talk about my last 3 movies I watched and do a very rapid review of them! This year I haven’t been watching a lot of movies as I’ve been binge watching “Sex and the City”, but this month has been pretty successful and I have a pretty exotic array of films for you to talk about. So keep reading and happy watching!

- Directed by: Phil Lord, Christopher Miller
- Starring: Ryan Gosling, Sandra Hüller
I actually watched this film yesterday in theaters . I can’t stress enough how much I recommend everyone to watch this film on a big screen, IMAX if possible! The film was beautifully shot, the scenes with spacewalking and the close ups of the planets are breathtaking, they will fascinate you. Moreover the film feels so human, you can tell how much care and passion went into it, I would send this film to aliens so they could learn about humans. Also, expect awesome performances by Ryan Gosling and Sandra Hüller, they have a great dynamic. Overall, amaze, amaze, amaze!

- Directed by: Paul Feig
- Starring: Amanda Seyfried, Sydney Sweeney, Brandon Sklenar
Let’s be honest, for some reason I had 0 hope for this film going into it, I’ve read really bad reviews of it online and it seemed like another forgettable thriller. I put it on to see what’s up, and I have to say that the experience was not unpleasant. It’s the movie simple and predictable and doesn’t bring anything new to the suspense genre? Yes! Did I honestly have fun watching? Also yes! The mystery was kinda predictable but for some reason I was invested in it. Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar did good performances which helped me get into the film. This was not Sydney Sweeney’s best acting, I found her boring and bland and I feel like another actress would make the film much better. Nevertheless, I will be watching the second one.

- Directed by: Garry Marshall
- Starring: Anne Hathaway, Julie Andrew’s
This is one of my comfort movies and I had the opportunity of watching a special screening at the Vizcaya Museum for the Miami Film Festival in a beautiful garden next to the water! This movie is so warm and perfect, the lines are iconic, “Me? A princess? Shut up!”, and it’s a time capsule for the 2000s with an underrated soundtrack. Julie Andrew’s performance in this seriously deserved an Oscar, it made me wish Genovia was real when I was a kid. There is literally nothing bad to say about this movie, there’s a reason it’s still popular 25 years later. The only thing, and this might be unpopular, is that I like “The Princess Diaries: Royal Engagement” more, sue me! Looking forward to see what they do for the 3rd one.
