Metacritical Assessment Part 3

While my site grows and I post more content, I have come to realize that I do not have much engagement on my site. So what can I do? I have decided to rely on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to help grow my engagement. What does that include? According to imeanmarketing, that means in my writing, I am using specific content that could include words, phrases, and referring sites to drive engagement to my page.

But that would mean I would have to revise a lot of the content that I posted, which can be tricky. When I write pieces, I am proud of them and the work I have done. But at times, I have to remember that I do not write just for myself but to build a community. There is no way to build a community if I struggle with engagement.

Re-editing is never a one-off thing; it is more of a work in progress. According to the Masterclass on editing, the most important tip is “Take a Break”. We try to do everything all at once and then overwhelm ourselves, which can affect our writing. The article also suggests that we “edit line by line,” which ties together to the important tip, reiterating that editing is always a work in progress.

Going to my own writing, I would say it was definitely hard to fix my writing to be more SEO friendly, but I got through it using the tips I shared earlier. I would say firstly that, by revising my writing, I found some grammatical issues that I did not catch at first. So this has been a big learning experience as I have been able to learn more about SEO and how to practice it, as I want to pursue it in the future for marketing.

One important thing about SEO in general is that when using words, the word is related to your content. Imagine searching for travel plans, and the first site is all about different home decor you can buy; that would be disappointing. When choosing my keywords, I had to make sure the ones I chose were related to the content of my page, so always remember that.
