On memory…

What are we without our memories?

Memories give meaning to our lives, from the saddest to the happiest. Our ability to recall those moments we hold so close to our hearts lets us relive passions and truly remember what it is all about.

Without memories, we would be a hollow, meaningless body wandering the roads. And professional court interpreters would be that and broke.

Language specialists need to understand how memory works and how they can enhance their own. Many interesting articles have been published about how important this brain function is for court interpreting. I suggest you check the Translation Journal.

The Interpreters Twilight Zone’s latest publication discusses the different types of memory and their relevance for interpreters. Please take a look and leave any comments or suggestions.

See you around.
