Writing web content will become my second nature….yes it will!
And these are my beginnings….
- 1- Personas: Creating personas is the most important step in building a website. It allows the encapsulation of goals, vision, and strategy to guide the content creation process.
- 2- About/Vision Statement: The moment the dream becomes an actionable plan. I helped myself using Susan Green‘s article and my professor’s notes.
Composition Process.
I chose to develop my writing process outside of my platform, in a medium I was more familiar with, in order to expedite it. Word Document offered me the necessary tools to create a document with embedded images, links, tables, and more. This gave me an idea about how my post would look like and let me know if I was comfortable enough to migrate everything there.
The pyramid style helped me keep my content focused and in good web-writing shape.
This writing style allowed me to edit my drafts easily because it kept my content focused.
My first step once inside WordPress was to pick a theme, create menus to parent my categories and begin the post-creating process. This Youtube video helped me
Once I had migrated the content using the Media & Text option, it was time to double-check grammar, style, and web usability.
These tabs will change and improve over time.
Virtual Introspection.
Promises, promises, promises.
March is now well underway, leaving a foggy tail of new writing pieces. As promised, my website has faced its own fair share of changes and improvements. It is time to take a look, so please join me.
According to Kenn State University, when assessing a website, the eager eye must look for:
- accuracy: I have strived to research the topics of my posts with links to resources whenever proper.
- currency: All posts display the date of publication, which keeps the reader informed about how often the website presents new publications.
- usability: I have taken the necessary steps to make my website accessible and user-friendly; there are buttons to go to the main page, up and back, making site navigation easier.
- authority: Although I don’t consider myself an expert, I have kept my focus on posting about topics I know on a deeper level.
- objectivity: The website’s goal is to enhance and widen the role of interpreters in this new day and age from an inclusive perspective. So, yes, I think we are on track in terms of purposes and intentions.
There is ample space for improvement, though.
I have to implement my bio post, which, at this moment, is absent of any information at all.
Additionally, the website would greatly benefit if I were to dive deeper into how to maneuver around technology because my lack of skills is showing clearly through configuration mistakes.
I will revisit WordPress tutorials to improve on this topic. Also, there are many free good resources on the web.
Notwithstanding my rustic computer skills, this class has awakened a new interest in me. I want to learn how to incorporate new features to make my website an experience rather than a routine exercise. I want visitors who will remember my page. I want more.
Final Assessment.
This report is the third and last step in a three-step evaluation process. It is a comprehensive assessment of the current state of my website after a 15-week period of intense work and learning.
Some features have been implemented since the last revision in mid-March. The site currently includes smart analytics through MonsterInsights to better understand post engagement and site traffic, among other important data.
The site has undergone intense SEO optimization in response to some of the reports received from MonsterInsights.
Understanding these reports is vital for the website’s health. It helps you understand user behavior and better plan future content.

Optimized to offer visitors a comprehensive idea of the site and what makes it different.
About page.
Merged into the website’s landing page to avoid content replication and improve the site’s usability.
Blog posts.
Image added to increase post’s attractiveness and improve usability. Linda Felder’s book Writing for the Web was used as guidance, specifically Chapter 3, ‘Working with Images,’ in order to present a more user-friendly post.

This revision process paid careful attention to consistency throughout the site to ensure content cohesiveness and completeness. It is important to keep up-to-date information on our website for the benefit of our visitors. This ensures it remains relevant and engaging, and with good rankings. Today’s digital landscape is very competitive.
